APPOINTMENT OF HEAD OF LOWER SCHOOL

Following extensive advertising in the TES, the News Shopper and on our own website, I am pleased to inform you that Mrs Wanstall and Mrs West have been jointly appointed to the role of Head of Lower School. While competition was strong and included candidates as far afield as New York, Dubai and Sunderland, it was felt that Mrs Wanstall and West were the best suited. The selection process included a rigorous interview and lesson observation. The panel included Senior Management and members of the Governing Body.

I wish the newly appointed postholders much success and look forward to welcoming them as an integral part of the SMT from September.

Incredibly, we are on the final straight of what has been a successful and extremely busy year at St. Christopher’s.

Firstly, may I politely include some important dates for this half term which may be of interest. A comprehensive list may be found in the school calendar.

Tuesday 19th June             Lower School Sports Day to be held at school

Saturday 23rd June            Summer Fair

Wednesday 27th June        KG Sports Day/Teddy Bear’s Picnic

Thursday 28th June            Rec/Y1 Prize Giving (Old School Hall)

Friday 29th June                Prep School Sports Day (Old Dunstonians)

Tuesday 3rd July                Y2 – Y6 Prize Giving (St. George’s Church)

Friday 6th July                   End of Term 12.00 noon

Congratulations to the U8 Cricket team who remain unbeaten at A & B level following two comprehensive wins over Farringtons on Monday 4th June. Equally pleasing was the U9 cricket team victory over Breaside in similar one-sided fashion.

A ‘flurry’ of Rounders tournaments also witnessed success this week with victories for the U11A and U10 A team in the St. Christopher’s Tournaments and Runners Up slot for the U9 team in both the St. Dunstan’s and St. Christopher’s Tournaments.
