St Christopher's The Hall School Limited is a registered not-for-profit company (company number 590877) and a registered charity (charity number 307917), and is governed by its Memorandum and Articles of Association. The Governors are the Directors of the company and the Trustees of the charity; no governor gains financially from involvement with the school. The Governors meet regularly to determine the general policy for the school, including its finances and the maintenance and development of the school grounds, buildings and equipment. The day to day management of the school is delegated to the Head and his staff. The Chair of the Governors can be contacted via the School Office or by email at email@example.com
Tracy Sell-Peters B.A.(Hons), M.A.(Cantab), LLB (Chair of Governors)
Tracy was born in England and emigrated to Canada as a child. She attended Trinity College at the University of Toronto, where she gained an Honours Degree with Distinction in History and French. Tracy then returned to the UK to undertake her Law degree at Cambridge University, but went back to Canada after that and gained a Canadian Law degree from Dalhousie University in Halifax. She was called to the Bar in Ontario, Canada in 1995 and to the Solicitor's Roll in England in 1996, having moved to England in 1995. Tracy is a litigator in the field of Healthcare Law, representing medical practitioners in relation to many aspects of medico-legal work, including when they are sued, when they are being disciplined by their employers or their regulatory bodies (such as the General Medical Council) and when they need assistance in relation to matters such as Inquests or Inquires. She is a Partner and Head of the Healthcare Department at DWF Fishburns solicitors in the City.
Tracy lives in Beckenham and had two children at St Christopher's: Isabella joined in Upper Kindergarten and is now at university in Canada and Amelia joined in Lower Kindergarten and is now at secondary school. Tracy has been involved in fundraising events for the SCA and has generally taken an active role in the school.
The Reverend Tim Hide
Tim joined local St. Barnabas Church in March 2012, moving from a busy parish of three churches where he was a regular visitor in 4 of the local schools, serving as governor. Prior to 2008 Tim worked as a member of the Chaplaincy Team of Newham Hospital in east London after starting a two year course with the Westminster Pastoral Foundation where he learned the practice and methodology of Psychodynamic Counselling.
Tim was ordained a Priest in 1999 and served his title at St. Mary, South Woodford, followed by a four year post as assistant curate in the parish of St. Laurence Upminster. During this time he attended the London Centre for Spiritual Direction to train as a spiritual director.
Tim studied Theology at Roehampton University, followed by formation for the Priesthood at St. Stephen's House, Oxford. Learning here what living together as a learning community entails has stood Tim in good stead for his work in a variety of schools since ordination.
When not engaged in a current wide ranging breadth of community engagements and projects, Tim enjoys the opera, the London theatre scene and a mix of New World and mainstream films.
Tim joined the Board of Governors in 2013.
Chris Martin B.Sc (Hons), Ph.D., ACGI, MBCS.
Chris became involved with St Christopher's when his first son joined in 2001, and has had 4 children in the school. Educated at the Bootham, the Friends school in York, Chris went on to gain a 1st class honours degree and Ph.D. in Computing from Imperial College, London, and now runs a software development company in the city.
Chris joined the Governors in 2011 and is involved in the website, IT and information management within the school.
Lindsay Curtis MA (Oxon).
Lindsay studied Modern History at Lincoln College, Oxford and went on to qualify as a chartered accountant with PriceWaterhouse Coopers, specialising in the charity and not for profit sector. Lindsay joined The Wellcome Trust in 1997 to work on its investment portfolio and was Head of Performance and Risk Management, responsible for the custody, accounting, compliance and performance and risk reporting arrangements for the portfolio, when she left to have her family.
Lindsay’s two sons both attended St. Christopher's from LKG to Year 6. Lindsay has been actively involved in the St. Christopher’s Association and was its Treasurer for a number of years.
Lindsay joined the Board of Governors in 2016 and is involved in running the website.
Claire Coulson BSc (Hons), Dip LL, Dip LP, Dip IP
Claire's eldest child joined St Christopher's Reception in 2008 and her two younger children started in Lower Kindergarten. Her youngest child is currently in Year 4.
Claire studied Molecular Biology and Genetics at the University of Manchester before turning to Law, which she studied at the College of Law, and she also holds a postgraduate diploma in Intellectual Property Law from Bristol University.
On qualifying as a solicitor, she specialised in biotechnology and pharmaceutical patent litigation and pharmaceutical regulatory law. Claire now volunteers as a telephone assessor and trainee generalist adviser at a local Citizens Advice Bureau, assisting clients with a wide range of issues.
