The Curriculum

The Curriculum taught throughout the school is monitored closely by the Senior Management Team and, specifically, by the Director of Studies and Deputy Head (Academic).  There are also Subject Coordinators in place for the key Curriculum areas of English, Mathematics and Science.

From Reception upwards class teachers are responsible for English, Mathematics, Science, Religious Education, History, Geography, Art and PSHE. Art, Computing, Drama, French, Music and PE/Games are introduced at either Kindergarten or Reception and delivered by specialist teachers. Regular outings and trips are arranged to support the curriculum. Outside guests are also invited to school to address the children on a range of topics and interests.

Children who require extra support whether it be reinforcement or extension work are identified at a very early age. A Learning Support Co-ordinator is in place to monitor progress.

Each class, up to and including Year 4, has a Teaching Assistant, which maximises the opportunity for individual and small group work, as and when necessary.
