New Appointments Announced
Letter from the Headmaster - March 14th, 2019
STAFFING FOR 2019
Following the appointment of Mr Mobbs as Head of St. Michael’s School, Leigh on Sea, I am pleased to announce the following staff appointments to start September 2019.
The Deputy Headship post will be divided into two distinct areas, Well-being and Academic. Mrs Samantha Rudge becomes Deputy Head with responsibility for Well-being throughout the school, while Mr Paul Bermingham becomes Deputy Head with responsibility for the Academic.
Mr Iles and Mr Woodhead, in the twilight of their careers, will ‘job share’ a Year 5 class from next September. Due to his part time status, Mr Iles will relinquish his Director of Studies post. This will be filled by Mr Tim Lunn B.A. (Hons) Classics, Newcastle University, PGCE in Maths from King’s College, London. Mr Lunn will also take up the post as Year 5 Teacher. He brings a wealth of experience with him and is presently teaching at Cumnor House Preparatory. He has led several departments including Classics, RE, History and Geography. He has also been a House Master at Ardingly College, a Head Teacher at The Study School, New Malden and an ISI Inspector. Outside the classroom, Mr Lunn has led football, rugby and cricket teams. He plays the cello and sings in a choir. We wish Mr Lunn a warm welcome to St. Christopher’s.
On the music front, Mrs Gilly Gay will fill the gap left by Mr Mobbs’ departure and become Director of Music at school. She will be ably assisted by Mr Nicholas Mannoukas.
Finally, Mr Chris Organ will add ICT Facilities Manager to his title of Science Co-ordinator and become responsible for the smooth running of ICT throughout the school.
I wish everyone Good Luck in their new posts. Class allocation for September 2019 will be confirmed shortly after the Summer Half Term.
Enjoy the rest of the term.
