Absence procedure

Please email mail@stchristophersthehall.org.uk to inform the School if your child is ill and going to be absent for the day.

If your child is unwell, we should receive the email no later than 9.00am. We will always follow up where a pupil is not in school for the day if we have not received any notification.

Should you wish to take your child out of school during term time, for any period of time, please email the Head to request permission (via headspa@stchristophersthehall.org.uk), as far in advance as possible.

Please be reminded that we cannot authorise absence purely for the reason of a family holiday.  If you feel you have an exceptional circumstance, you must speak to and email the Head prior to making any arrangements or taking any absence.

Parents in Year 6 may request a half day/day off for 11+ reasons to visit prospective schools, and permission for this should be requested by emails from Head of Prep School. The caveat is that time taken off for pupils to see a school will ultimately mean they miss imperative schooling during an important term. Please think carefully before booking many of these, and always look to see if they can be done outside school hours.
