Mrs Jefferys and Capt. Sir Tom Moore

Mrs Jefferys has an amazing task to perform this week...

Some of you may know, but as well as being a Year 3 teacher, Mrs Jefferys is the Master of the Guild of Freemen of the City of London.

She has the honour of conferring Honorary Membership of the Guild on Capt Sir Tom Moore this Wednesday morning!

The Court of the Guild of Freemen has agreed to confer Honorary Membership of the Guild to Captain Sir Tom Moore, and he has graciously accepted. It is the highest honour the Guild can bestow and is awarded only in exceptional circumstances; Captain Sir Tom's fundraising for the NHS Charities certainly meets the criteria!

The only living Honorary Member is HRH The Princess Royal.

As Master, Mrs Jefferys, will admit Captain Sir Tom in a virtual ceremony, the first ever for the Guild, on Wednesday 3rd June 2020 at 11.00am. Alderman Sir David Wootton, Past Master of the Guild, Past Lord Mayor and Master Woolman, will be present.

You can view the ceremony on YouTube at this link:    https://youtu.be/BwJOmxYza_E

The Master hopes that you will be able to join us to view the ceremony live. Simply click on the link just before 11.00am on Wednesday 3rd June.  If you are unable to watch live, or if there are technical issues, the video will be available to view after the ceremony.
