Letter from The Headmaster - Lent 2019
Happy New Year to one and all and a huge thank you for all the lovely Christmas presents delivered at the end of the Michaelmas Term. Curiously, most of my ‘stock pile’ was either of an alcoholic content or chocolate! As a result, ‘one’ of my resolutions for 2019 is to reduce my calorific intake, increase my exercise regime and relieve my waistband!
The main announcement this term comprises both an element of sadness and delight. Mr Mobbs, our wonderful Deputy Headmaster, is to leave at the end of the year to take up a Headship at St. Michael’s Church of England Preparatory School in Essex. Mr Mobbs has been the ‘Robin’ to my ‘Batman’ or ‘Rodney’ to my ‘Del Boy’ for 10 fruitful years. He has contributed hugely to the Music Department and indeed the whole school. The aforementioned sadness is due to the gap which Mr Mobbs’ departure will leave and the ‘delight’ is the deserved reward of a Headship. We will, of course, celebrate Mr Mobbs’ success more robustly nearer the end of the year but for now congratulate and thank him.
Mundane matters include notice that swimming starts this Thursday for Years 2,5 & 6. Prep school games are football (shin pads required) and netball and clubs begin on Monday 14th January.
The school calendar will be circulated shortly. I hope you all have a productive term.
