4A Visit the National Portrait Gallery
On Tuesday 25th February 4A went to the National Portrait Gallery to enhance their studies of the Tudors. During the morning they were introduced to several portraits in the Gallery . As well as gaining a deeper insight into the characters portrayed, the children also learnt a little more about the way portraits were produced in Tudor times. Later in the school room the children learnt about the conservation that has taken place in the Gallery and were able to produce their own Elizabeth I portraits from a face pattern. A trip to the shop and a picnic lunch in Trafalgar Square rounded off a very informative morning.
